Jim Scopa
Non-executive Director
James Scopa has served as a member of our board of directors since June 2006. Mr. Scopa is a Managing Director of MPM Capital, a venture capital fund, a position he has held since May 2005. Previously, from June 2002 to May 2005, Mr. Scopa was a partner and co-Director of Healthcare Investment Banking at Thomas Weisel Partners. Mr. Scopa also served on the Investment Committee for Thomas Weisel Partners Health Care venture fund. Prior to joining Thomas Weisel Partners, he was a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown from 1999 to 2002, having joined the former Alex Brown & Sons in 1990.
Mr. Scopa received an A.B. from Harvard College (Phi Beta Kappa), an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
